The Bridges, RAPt’s residential rehab in Hull, held an annual fundraiser on Tuesday 19 July in the beautiful Garrowby Hall near York hosted by the very welcoming Lord and Lady Halifax. Current clients and graduates had all been invited to support the event and share our experiences of treatment at The Bridges.

As the band played lovely music and caterers served tasty food, everyone mingled and we had the opportunity to talk to the special guests about our journey through treatment. This was a brilliant experience as it had me facing many of my fears and I felt on top of the world.

I appreciated the opportunity to express my gratitude for the guests’ generous support of The Bridges and its treatments that have become so important to myself and many of its residents.

It was surreal for me as well because I was clean and sober and communicating on a level that I wouldn’t have been able to had I still been influenced by drugs and alcohol. The guests congratulated us on all of our achievements which made me a little embarrassed but it gave me great courage to continue my treatment and make the most of my time at The Bridges.

Thank you to RAPt for allowing us all such an opportunity to get the treatment we need and share our experiences at such events as this.
